so, it's the last few days of 07. Everyone's talking about going partying and getting wildly drunk. erm, pls dun drive if u are drinking. saw yet another accident last nite. haiz. painful... anyways, i am going to be staying home. haha.. boring old me right? well.. tat's the plan for me now.i've lost of work left undone for the year. now panicking and about to wet my pants. ok.. tat's an exaggeration, but i realli feel like ants on a hot pan now. just a few more days to go....

passed my sim exams. did pretty decently considering that i left it till the last min to study. was busy with events and all.. happy tat i made it..

i dun make resolutions, cos i usually dun strive to resolve them. haha. but now, i think a little differently. with age catching up, i think it's good to make resolutions and stick to them. no time is to be wasted... although there is a need for thinking things thru carefully... i used to think tat just do it is good. but on the hindsight, if more time has been spent thinking, things will b better.

Resolution 1: Think things through thoroughly (they all start with 'th's!)

i also aim to keep myself fit this year. i want to run a marathon in 08. maybe not the full as i think i'll probaby collapse midway and die.. maybe half... but the human body is stronger than what we think.. who knows? haha...

Resolution 2: Train properly and run a marathon (or at least half of it)

To help fulfil Resolution2, i'll wan to get a bicycle to cycle to work. save money and also to help with training those leg muscles which are turning into fats. have been planning the routes i will take to go to sch and to go for my driving lessons... i hope to go get a bicycle soon... but as with resolution 1, i will think things through and will not rush into making compulsive buys... i will be prudent.

Resolution 3: Buy a bicycle

to make sure that i earn more money and to fulfil reap the benefits of the new incentives, i will work hard and work smart. I dun fancy moving up the ranks. i just wan to earn more money. it's not tat i'm money-minded.. but a 4 room flat in boon keng costs more than $400k. and money would help to make life easier... haiz. money money. they realli dun grow on trees do they?

Resolution 4: Do well for the interview (if it comes along) and to do my part of my work.

to fulfil resolution 4, i shall stop here and do some work before going to meet some dear frens for lunch. porridge is all i can eat now.tightened my teeth yesterday. six more months to go according to my dentist. yeah!

In Vietnam...

made it to Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, on 18 dec. after just 3 days in SG. it was a mad rush i would say.. rush to unpack and then pack again for the trip.. lucky there's my mum to help with the washing... madness. heee...

from the hustle and bustle of singapore, we arrived right into the hustle and bustle of HCM. thinking it would be cold like wat everybody says, i borrowed a sweater from my aunt and even bought a scarf. haiz.. but cold it was not and in fact the sun rays shone down brightly onto my fair skin... hee... all that i can now remember of HCM is that the noise is deafening and just crossing the road is a death defying stunt... walking through Pratunam market in Bangkok is mothing compared to the roads here.. they do not give way here and they blast their horns like nobody's business. they just wan to get on with their way and they would horn their way through.... ans i seriously mean very very loud horns....

met with KY's fren's fren and he took us to lunch that was above our budget.. but it was good ah... had beer with the lunch. heh heh.. beer is not nice...

thinking that our next stop would be better, i went to bed that nite in HCM hoping for less horns and nicer ppl in Hue City.....

Rat's birthday and our 4th anniversary!
woke up early for the flight to Hue on pacific airlines.. think i took many flights this year.. silkair to sarawak in sept, airasia to bangkok and to HCM, pacific to Hue from HCM and then vietnam air from Hue to Hanoi.. finally from Hanoi to SG on Tiger... wow....

heee... we rented bikes, motorbike for Rat and bicycle for myself and KY. i prefer riding bicycles then to motorbikes. haiz. i dared to weave in and out of the traffic with the bicycyle but not with motor.. weird... haiz.. it was fun riding the bicycle.. i got inspired to want to get a bicycle so i can cycle to sch everyday.. think it will be healthy and cheap... hee...

Hue city was colder than HCM by a little... less traffic, but the horns were just as loud and nerve-wrecking. thank goodness it is not like this in SG. i think i will go mad... food was ok in Hue. coffee was good... the men sit in the coffee shops on small stools for long hours while the women are the ones carrying heavy baskets on their thin yet strong shoulders selling things like food and fruits... men... haiz.. lazy...

the imperial city was ok.. tot it would be more impressive and majestic... walked around and around and then we came across a big bookshop and went in.. found a place where we could sit and paint clay figures.. rat and i painted one each while ky sat there watching all the young ppl painting... it was fun.. we painted two lambs.. mine is nicer.. heee..

bought a cake from the onli cake shop that we saw in Hue City... the cake was not very nice... weird.. hee hee.. but we had to make do.. ate the cake and went to bed in a big big room...

Hanoi is a nice place.. it was all foggy and misty at the airport.. finally is realli is cold.. haha... about 17 degrees... woo.... finally my sweater can use.. took the airport shuttle to the Old Quarters where we called home for the past 3 days.. it's an excellent place... pricey though... and as we were all on a budget, tat meant that we could not buy many things... haiz... very little shopping done here... stamps for everyone, a teapot set, 2 pieces of cloth for making clothes for hari raya, a packet of coffee and a strainer for the coffee, some cds, a gangster cap for rat, some dragonflies and that's it... haiz... no budget and nothing much to buy.. their clothes were for the winter season so all very thick.. and they overcharge foreigners here by a lot. haiz... quite sad that everyone is trying to rip us off, even for a cup of coffee... haiz.. one day it costs 50 SG cents and they next it would be 70 SG cents.. haiz..
the lakes here are beautiful.. very nice and cold.. went on a one day trip to HaLOng Bay yeaterday and the boat ride was extremely cold... met many ppl from many places... weird pppl, some of them.. the caves were nice.. but i kind of like the ones in sarawak better...
the food here is not bad.. i like the glutinous rice very much.. excellent stuff... the rest were ok.. coffee is good too...
waiting for the taxi to take us to the airport.. will reach singapore at 0030hours on 24 dec.. cool... haha... pictures will be up once i'm back.. i miss singapore.. i am very proud to be a singaporean... seriously.... i love Singapore! haha...

back from bangkok...off to vietnam...

back from bangkok.. lots of shopping done.. no one to stop me u see.. haha...

just packed my bag yet again for a 6 day vietnam trip... hmmm... my bag is small.. at least i think it is small, but it's heavy! haiz... why??? must be the bag of raisins i bought. haha.... if can finish all the tidbits then i think it will be lighter a bit. haha... maybe it's the bag that is heavy?? Hee.. i'm just finding excuses....

got to sleep soon.. tot i would not get any sleep, but i'm tired ah... heee... shall sleep for 4 hours or so.... yawnz.....

will update when i'm back... i'll miss home, my family, little emre and my bed.... actualli i kind of like shopping.... hee hee... but mei you qian alreadi.. spent my bonus on the air fares and expenses... feel very broke now.... haiz....

at least i got the xmas presents printed... phew.... more to do when i'm back.. haha... on xmas eve itself... haiz....

the last time i was here was about 3 years ago? memory is quite bad. hee hee... the air is polluted here... the exhaust fumes have coated my alreadi not very clean lungs... aiyoh....
shopping has been good so far. bought clothes for work. next year will have more shirts to wear to work. better ah. think older alreadi, must look more pro a bot.. hee...
it has been good at the evergreen apartments that we are staying at... nice place, clean and the ppl are nice... emre has been adapting well.. think he is ahppy to see so many ppl in the hose all the time, except when we go shopping and leave him in the apartment with my mum... take my hat off my mum and my sis for taking care of him.. carried him for a whhile last night and my arms were aching.. amazing...

i'm leaving on a jet plane.. dunno when i'll be back again... hee.. actualli i know lah. friday come back alreadi. haha... wat a drama mama... hee... finally, going to bangkok... going to spend and spend. hmmm.. sharing a luggage with my mum and cousin.. quite funny. hee... first time i think, tat we are travelling to somewhere that's not JB or chalet together.

taking jet star for the first time. onli took tiger before. heard jetstar is good. i'm looking forward to it.. i like to take planes.. hee.. very excited about vietnam.. tat'll be extremely exciting.. hee.. hee...

went to karaoke yesterday. i think i will not go sing ever again! pls stop me if i do! i can't sing for nuts. haiz. dunno the somngs well enough to sing to the tune. haiz. not good, not good. in fact, it was terrible. haha.. poor MY to have to bear with the terrible singing. haha...

got to get something done for my sis and then go to print and then go to climb. busy busy...

after the long entry sometime ago, here's another long one! now i'm at ngee ann with rat. he's studying and i'm just doing things that i wan to do for long time and never do... to slack and watch ppl walking by... at a part of ngee ann tat i was never at before in my three years of mass comm years. very ulu...

got lots of things in my head as usual, but they are not exactly keen on travelling to my fingers. heh.. just saw a banner at clemnti tat says "speed dating on the mrt train". are we so busy that we have no time to date or find someone to go on a date with? it has got to do with earning money i think. not good.

saw an accident on my way to rat's place. saw the blue tent and a shoe lying next to the tent. the man, it was most likely a male cos of the shoe next to the tent, was riding a motorcycle. it was raining, and it was the morning peak hour rush.. felt sad cos tat man waseither on his way to work or on his way home from working the nite shift.. wat is his loved one to do now? haiz. let's observe one minute of silence for the man, hope he has gone to a better place and that his loved ones will not be too upset..

read 'P.S I love u' yeaterday. bought the book on a whim at popular. i usually dun buy books. way too expensive.. but well, i dun regret buying the book. it's a good read. about aman who passed away due to a tumor in his brain but before he died, he wrote out lists for his wife to help her get over him when he's gone. it was touching. i wonder if there are ppl who would do this? i might if i know i'm ill... it might just help? i dunno. maybe i'll look for the movie.. usually the books are better though...

oops.. it's 3.30.realli haven't been doing much today. time really flies by! tom i'll go to the garden tech and then i'll get some work done. hmmm.... better be quick. no time!!!

want to go climb and to wakeboard.. but like notime. busy and lazy to plan. by the end of my vietnam trip, i'll be very broke. haiz. think will not wakeboard.

very forgetful

usually i will have lots of things that i wan to write here in my mind throughout the day.. i'll be thinking of the exact words to type and all during train rides, bus rides etc, but somehow when i sit down in front of my sugarcube, i forget everything... oh, my macbook is so named sugarcube because it is white and for some reason, it just attracts ants right from the beginning when i first tookit out from the box. wonder where the attraction lies? hmmm..

it's looking a little battled now. got burnt marks on the keyboard area. think it was the cover tat caused it to overheat and burnt. haiz. wonder if there's anything i can do? hee..

went to set up an exhibition. had the help from two realli nice ppl and one really talkative person. the two realli nice ppl as the title goes is realli nice. they are very helpful and they are wonderful. the same cannot be said of the talkative one. no initiative, no sense of urgency and just cannot do work. haiz. observed how he does work for many times and every single time i am proven right. haiz. oh well.. i guess we just do things very differently and i am not being very nice here. hee.. just think tat ppl like this, No Action Talk Only, are just too self-centered and living in their own world. haiz.

anyway, tom going to do some painting. seems like i cannot run away from painting. hmmm.. just keep painting and painting! haha.. hopefully this will not take too long. hope can finish in two days. getting the help of my cousins. following the hard work would be a movie, enchanted. actualli i watched it before, but i like the show.. all lovey dovey. hee..

i am going to get a sewing machine. a real one. hee... wan to start sewing and make things. but no money to get now. any kind souls who can donate to my buy a sewing machine fund? haha.. i still owe my sis for the bangkok trip, haiz. must wait for pay day then can pay ah.. sorry sis... wo mei you qian.. heee...

it's december in a blink of the eye and 08 is just round the corner... time flies.. soon i'll be 26 years old. oh man.. so old alreadi.. i still can't cook. hee hee.. i can cook porridge and maggi mee though. hee. not bad ah. i wan to complete a full marathon next year. 2008 shall be the year. i am aiming for the stand chart full marathon. i dun care how long i will take to finish the race, but i am going to do it. took 34 mins to finish 5km. for 42 plus plus km, i will take around 5 hours if my stamina allows me to. worse come to worse, i'll do the half and in 2009 i'll do the full. set.

bought a nice phone for the house. the old one is almost beyond redemption alreadi. used the voucher i won at the singtel fair. i love vouchers... gimme more vouchers! woo hoo... :) still have $10 isetan, $10 popular and $40 ntuc vouchers to go.. hee hee.. also have a borders voucher card, but dunno howmuch is in there... wooo.. exciting... hee..
